Courtney E. Pozmantier
Courtney E. Pozmantier is an associate with KTB&S
Ms. Pozmantier graduated from UCLA in March of 2000, earning a B.A. in Political Science. She received her J.D. from NYU School of Law in 2005. From 2000-2002, Ms. Pozmantier worked at a public relations firm which specialized in providing strategic communications services in the areas of corporate reorganization, investor relations and crisis management. Ms. Pozmantier also spent a year as a consultant for AlixPartners LLP, where she played a significant role in establishing and implementing a litigation management program to resolve more than $100 billion in litigation claims filed in the General Motors bankruptcy case. In 2009, Ms. Pozmantier was named a "Rising Star" in Super Lawyers Magazine (So. Cal. edition).
Ms. Pozmantier represents Thorpe Insulation Co., a company that resolved its significant asbestos-related liabilities through chapter 11, in numerous pending appeals arising out of its bankruptcy case. Her previous debtor representations include APX Holdings, LLC, et al., a package shipping company; Custom Food Products, Inc., a processor of custom and value added meat products; Brotman Medical Center, Inc., owner of a licensed and accredited acute care hospital and related facilities; and Lake at Las Vegas Joint Venture LLC, the developer of Lake Las Vegas Resort. On the creditor side, she has represented the secured creditor in the chapter 11 case of The Legacy Estate Group, LLC, involving the Freemark Abbey, Arrowood and Byron wineries; the Ad Hoc Committee of Noteholders in the chapter 11 case of Pliant Corporation; and the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Sexy Hair Concepts, LLC and its affiliates.
Ms. Pozmantier is authorized to practice law in California, including before all federal district and bankruptcy courts, and to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
