Nir Maoz is an associate with KTBS.
Mr. Maoz received his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law with a certificate in Business Law. Upon graduation, he was admitted to the Order of the Coif. During law school, he received the Fenwick Tax Award for the highest performance in all tax courses and First Place in the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Writing Competition. He was also an editor of the Berkeley Business Law and Berkeley Technology Law Journals. Mr. Maoz received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with high distinction. At Berkeley, he studied Political Science and Legal Studies and was the recipient of the Leadership Award.
Since joining KTBS, Mr. Maoz has represented clients in a variety of roles, both in and out of court. Mr. Maoz’s practice spans key corporate restructuring areas, including asset sales, restructurings, and reorganizations. Mr. Maoz has experience representing purchasers of assets, secured lenders, landlords, equity holders, and other stakeholders in special and distressed situations, including section 363 sales. Mr. Maoz has also worked on bankruptcy litigation matters, including mass tort bankruptcies and appeals.
Mr. Maoz is a member of the State Bar of California, the Financial Lawyers Conference, the Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society. Mr. Maoz is also a contributing author to the Collier Business Practice Guide. He is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in California and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits.
