KTB&S Partner Whitman L. Holt was recently elected to membership in the National Bankruptcy Conference (NBC). The NBC is a non-profit organization of approximately 60 lawyers, law professors, and bankruptcy judges who are leading scholars and practitioners in the field of bankruptcy law. The NBC’s primary purpose is to advise Congress about the operation of bankruptcy and related laws and any proposed changes to those laws.  Membership in the organization is by invitation only, and the NBC is widely regarded as the most prestigious professional organization in the bankruptcy field.  KTB&S Partner Kenneth N. We are pleased to announce the election of Maria Sountas-Argiropoulos, a partner in our Corporate Practice Group, as the Chair of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association for the 2015/2016 year.  The Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section is dedicated to providing first quality, affordable continuing legal education, legislative expertise, informative newsletters and publications, pro bono services, introductory education for young lawyers, liaison with the federal and state judiciary, and other services of value to commercial and bankruptcy lawyers and the community they serve. Section programs focus on the Uniform Commercial Code, the U. S. Bankruptcy Code, and other federal and state laws relating to financial transactions or insolvency matters.
